Martin Health System – Clinical Research Therapeutic Areas

Martin Health has a long history of participating in innovative clinical research. Through our affiliation with the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa and membership in the Southwest Oncology Group, Martin Health is part of a nation-wide effort that leads hundreds of clinical trials which are responsible for finding safe and effective cancer treatments. Clinical trials play an important role in disease prevention and treatment. The advancement of medicine relies on trials to ensure the effectiveness and safety of newly discovered therapies. Through studying the characteristics and blood or tissue of different people, scientists may find better ways to prevent diseases such as cancer, Alzheimer’s, heart disease and autoimmune disorders.

As a member of the Tradition Center for Innovation, Martin Health has collaborated with VGTI Florida (Vaccine and Gene Therapy Institute) on research studies, providing bio-specimens for a wide range of clinical trials. We look forward to continuing to work with VGTI, Mann Research Center and Torrey Pines Institute for Molecular Studies to bring life-saving research to the Treasure Coast and beyond.
